Okay.. so I don't even have a t.v. but I saw the news about Pink's performance. I could never figure Pink out in the past.. is she gay? is she punk? is she too mainstream for me? But I sorta have always thought she was a bad ass compared to most of the pop girls. She does make fun of them a bunch which I really like.
After seeing her Grammy performance I have a new found respect for her.. and I want to know her workout.
Check it out.
ummm.. yeah.. let's see you fly above a crowd, wet, singing, and spinning on a rope.. uh.. yeah.
I even like the song... I think I'm going to have to steal some music from my bud Jeri.

all signed up
to run the twilight 5k @ the Oakland Running Fest. I thought it would be good practice and training for hopefully the goal of running the half marathon in June (see jane run).
Very excited.
Very excited.
back to the power tools..
That cute little teeny tiny break I had from making shadow boxes has come to an end. Now that I don't work my second job there is no excuse to not make more art and get things in order. I also have a goal to finish my commissions by the end of the month... a good solid reasonable goal.

I spent most of the day outside cutting wood for 21 new boxes - 11 of them are already accounted for but the rest will make their debut on Etsy. Making these boxes is tedious and mind numbing at times. A positive thing that happened was that I took my housemates suggestion and moved my space heater to the studio space (the cold garage). I was toasty warm while I drilled, hammered, and painted.

The only hiccup I came across was the fact that I don't have enough backs to the frames. I need to call my buddy Trev who cuts large sheets of wood for me.
I also have been busy working on my collaborations. I have been really into using canvas.. in the past I have been into wood but I think it's important to open yourself up to new mediums.. pictures to come.

my sister's sense of humor
Recently I asked my sister if I could borrow the movie "Mommie Dearest". I had plans with some friends to watch this painful little gem around the holidays.. I don't know why we wanted to torture ourselves but we did... and sometime I don't think one should ask questions.
My sister said that she left the movie out for me and I should swing by and pick it up.
This is what was left for me:

so awesome!

Turns out..
my impromptu show hangs until this Friday... very cool. The show hangs a whole week long.. pretty cool. Again, I have to say I love when that sorta thing randomly happens.
I recently purchased a large amount of wood to start doing my commissions and get my heart series pulled together and possibly finished. I do think I will continue to make more of this series to sell on Etsy. I'm hoping this will motivate me to continue making things for my Etsy page. But I'm very much in the space to move on to new projects.
Speaking of new projects.. I'm continuing to make art for my collaboration pieces with Hollyce.
Here are two more pictures of some recent things going to her.

It will be interesting to see what Hollyce does with them.
Don't know if you could tell but I love drawing power lines..especially in a "Dali" sort of way. I also love drawing tree.. just a factoid.
Here are some recent heart boxes with power lines: (these sold in Oakland Under $100)

Music wise..
I have been listening to tons of different stuff but have really been enjoying PJ Harvey's "Is This Desire?". Such a good album!!! I forgot how much I love this album. I have many memories of listening to this while I lived in Portland... seems very fitting for that town.
One of my favorite songs is "Angelene".
Until next time..
